Chapter 1 - How to start earning money selling your art on Society6

Society6 is one of the best PODs to start selling your art online. The upload process is simple and you don't need an invite to join (a lot of PODs will ask you to apply). It was where I started and after my first sale (just 3 weeks after uploading) I realized I could make real money with this POD life.

So, where to start? First you need to go to Society6 (http://society6.com/) and click in join/login. That will take you to the sign-up page.

Then you will have to select UPLOAD ART and fill up your information. Your username has to be unique so think about it for a while (especially because you can't change it afterward).

Something you will have to do before uploading art is to Get Verified. That means you will have to pay $1 (PayPal) to Society6 before you even start. Attention: the Paypal email you use to pay will be the same one that will receive your earnings!

The upload process for Society6 is fairly simple. First, you have to upload your artwork.

Then you will be asked to choose a Title, category, tags, and description of your artwork. Don't underestimate the importance of this step! Society6 has thousands of artists so if you want to be found, you have to have to take it seriously. Some tips for your tags and title:

• Be descriptive! It's more likely someone will find your photography if it's called CAT PHOTOGRAPHY than if it's called BONES
• Use all the tags! Don't be lazy and think about 20 descriptive tags
•  Always put a description! Just because it's not required it doesn't mean it won't help your art to get found

Now you will have to adjust your art in the several products that Society6 has. You can choose your price for art prints (everything else you will get a 20% commission). After you finish this part just click publish and wait for the money to roll in! Right? No! Now you need to promote your store!
